98% BTech and MTech students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Goa, received placements. The highest package bagged by a student was Rs 1.1 crore, institute director B K Mishra said. 73 out of 74 BTech students and 21 out of 22 M tech students have been placed with average packages of Rs 23.4 and Rs 12.4 lakh per annum, respectively. Students have also secured 12 international offers, he said.

IIT Madras signs MoU with Tamil Nadu government to implement a scientific enforcement approach to road safety. Key outcomes targeted from this collaboration include conducting forensic accident audits at identified crash spots and developing a comprehensive/scientific crash investigation. Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have developed a map to highlight areas that are prone to rain-induced erosion. The map is intended to help in planning, prioritising and implementing essential watershed development activities to minimise soil erosion. Parts of Assam and Meghalaya are among Indian zones prone to the most significant rainfall-induced soil erosion, officials said.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras bags ₹21 crore grant for research in quantum computing. The grant was announced as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IIT Madras and Mphasis, a Bengaluru-based IT solutions company. Mphasis specialises in cloud and cognitive services. However, it has been talking about using quantum computers for machine learning, optimisation, and simulation problems.

IIT Kanpur has undertaken this ambitious project of setting up a one-of-its-kind medical school. IISc Bengaluru has been named the best university, while Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia from Delhi got the second and third ranks respectively. IIM-Ahmedabad has been identified as the best business school in India, followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad is the second best in the category while Panjab University, Chandigarh has been ranked third.
