IIT Patna has entered into a three year agreement with Applied Materials India Private Limited. The faculty and students of IIT Patna will be engaging in research and development of special coatings for corrosion avoidance in the semiconductor industry.
IIT KGP is collaborating with the transport department to organise a programme to teach safety aspects of urban roads to the traffic police.
Around 200 police personnel will be a part of the training. The training will have 4 rounds with 50 officers each.

An AI-focussed research facility for advanced computing systems at IIT Madras has been inaugurated by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
This facility will lay the foundation for a strong university-government-industry relationship.
Researchers of the Department of Chemistry and Centre for Nanotechnology have engineered liquid marbles using nano clay, enabling the controlled release of drugs and programmed chemical reactions.

Under the agreement, a Centre of Advanced Research on Diagnostics in Cancer (C-CARD) will be set up at the premises of the institute. Both organisations will collaborate on large-scale OncoDiagnostic services in conjunction with Assam Cancer Care Hospitals across the state.
IIT-Patna to host fourth TEDx (Technology, Entertainment, Design) event on September 3 and 4. The two-day event aims to celebrate the spirit of unity and togetherness among the youths. Altogether seven keynote speakers will guide and inspire students. The first resource person will be Alakh Pandey, founder of India’s leading Ed-tech PhysicsWallah. The second resource person is Phani Tetali, former head of IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. Fourth speaker is Sriparna Saha, one of the eight leading women scientists in artificial intelligence (AI) in India.

These nanoparticles release the drug in response to stimuli that are specific to cancer sites only. The research has been led by Garima Agrawal and co-authored by her students. The findings of the research have been published in the Journal Carbohydrate Polymers.

A team of researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, has developed an edible coating material to extend the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables. This coating material was tested on vegetables and fruits such as potatoes, tomatoes, green chillies, strawberries, apples, pineapples and Kiwi fruits.
GATE 2022 was conducted across 206 cities, but 10 of the earlier cities have been dropped this year. Applicants can choose their preferred two-paper combinations from a wide range of interdisciplinary areas. Online Application process starts from 30th August, 2022, and the aspirants will be able to fill out regular applications till 30th September, 2022. Exams will also be held in international cities of Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Male (Maldives), Port Louis (Mauritius) and Singapore (Singapore). GATE is diversified to include students from Arts and Commerce streams as well, for them to achieve better opportunities for higher studies. Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using the GATE score in their recruitment processes.
