Advanced Cancer Research Centre To Be Set Up In IIT-Guwahati.
Under the agreement, a Centre of Advanced Research on Diagnostics in Cancer (C-CARD) will be set up at the premises of the institute. Both organisations will collaborate on large-scale OncoDiagnostic services in conjunction with Assam Cancer Care Hospitals across the state.
IIT-Patna to host fourth TEDx with eminent techies
IIT-Patna to host fourth TEDx (Technology, Entertainment, Design) event on September 3 and 4. The two-day event aims to celebrate the spirit of unity and togetherness among the youths. Altogether seven keynote speakers will guide and inspire students. The first resource person will be Alakh Pandey, founder of India’s leading Ed-tech PhysicsWallah. The second resource person is Phani Tetali, former head of IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. Fourth speaker is Sriparna Saha, one of the eight leading women scientists in artificial intelligence (AI) in India.

Researchers at IIT Mandi develop ‘biodegradable’ nanoparticles for treatment of colorectal cancer
These nanoparticles release the drug in response to stimuli that are specific to cancer sites only. The research has been led by Garima Agrawal and co-authored by her students. The findings of the research have been published in the Journal Carbohydrate Polymers.

IIT team develops edible coatings to extend shelf life of fruits, vegetables
A team of researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, has developed an edible coating material to extend the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables. This coating material was tested on vegetables and fruits such as potatoes, tomatoes, green chillies, strawberries, apples, pineapples and Kiwi fruits.
GATE 2023: IIT Kanpur Adds 23 New Exam Cities, More Paper Combinations.
GATE 2022 was conducted across 206 cities, but 10 of the earlier cities have been dropped this year. Applicants can choose their preferred two-paper combinations from a wide range of interdisciplinary areas. Online Application process starts from 30th August, 2022, and the aspirants will be able to fill out regular applications till 30th September, 2022. Exams will also be held in international cities of Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Male (Maldives), Port Louis (Mauritius) and Singapore (Singapore). GATE is diversified to include students from Arts and Commerce streams as well, for them to achieve better opportunities for higher studies. Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using the GATE score in their recruitment processes.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) witnessed an increase of 32 percent in internship offers received on day one of campus internship drive for students of the 2022-23 batch.
There is a 48 per cent increase in the number of students who secured an internship and 28 percent increase in number of companies participated in the internship drive. The top recruiters in terms of internship offers are- Texas Instruments (40 offers), American Express (20 offers), Boston Consulting Group (17 offers), Goldman Sachs (16 offers).

JEE Advanced 2022 registration starts today at jeeadv.ac.in
The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay will commence the JEE Advanced 2022 registration process today. The admit card will be available from August 23 to August 28, 2022. Candidates can apply for Joint Entrance Examination Advanced online through the official site- jeeadv.ac.in. The last date to apply for the examination is till August 11.
IIT-Roorkee, DRDO develop radio frequency power amplifiers
Radio frequency power amplifiers will convert low-power radio-frequency signals into higher-power ones and improve audio frequency. The device, developed in DRDO’s Defence Electronics Application Laboratory (DEAL), can be useful for Army units deployed in remote regions. The product development activity took around two years and was undertaken under the Centre’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

23 IITs have 4,600 vacant faculty positions
23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have about 4,600 open faculty seats. IIT Bombay and Kharagpur have the highest number of vacant faculty positions at 517 and 798 respectively. The oldest IIT in the country, IIT Delhi have the lowest number of vacancies lying empty which is 52. All in all, 4596 vacancies are lying vacant in IITs.
