23 IITs have 4,600 vacant faculty positions

23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have about 4,600 open faculty seats. IIT Bombay and Kharagpur have the highest number of vacant faculty positions at 517 and 798 respectively. The oldest IIT in the country, IIT Delhi have the lowest number of vacancies lying empty which is 52. All in all, 4596 vacancies are lying vacant in IITs.
