IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Develops Ultra-Compact Antenna for Next-Gen Wearables
Researchers at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad have developed an ultra-compact wearable antenna measuring just 5x5x0.75mm, designed for next-generation healthcare devices and smart wearables. The antenna is built for Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs), offering high-speed data transmission and wider wireless coverage while keeping its Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) low — meaning it's designed to be safe for prolonged, close-body use. The breakthrough could feed into future health-monitoring wearables and body-worn communication systems.
