Home working and home schooling – looks like it is going to be here for a while. And for most of us, that brings the challenge of balancing both of these during the working hours. This webinar will, in the 1st hour, cover some tips to manage this.
The presentation will be followed by a virtual networking session starting at 4 p.m. So bring your tea, coffee, drinks and snacks and get to meet some other Alumni. When registering, please indicate if you are only attending the networking.
Details of the presentation:
Change is hard for adults to process. How much more difficult will it be for children this year?
How can we motivate our children to be enthusiastic about schooling at home?
How can we bring our children on board with the idea of working as a team and set mutually beneficial boundaries to ensure everyone can achieve what they need to during the day?
At this webinar, Janthea will share tips for parents on; how they can best communicate with children, how to understand the signals they share with us and how to use those to create a productive environment at home to balance work and school life.
Janthea Brigden was home educated herself (when her teacher mum took them around Europe for a year in a converted caravan!) and chose to home educate two of her children at different stages in their development, whilst also running a successful business.
She is a qualified Early Years Professional and is Nipperbout’s Childcare director and Safe Guarding Officer. Since 1992, she has grown Nipperbout to be a nationally recognised, award winning company that cares for over 10,000 children a year.
The event is restricted to IIT students, Alumni, staff and their families.
Twelve years as an professional actress taught Janthea to be creative, flexible, imaginative and resilient! Janthea is Founder and C.E.O of Nipperbout Ltd – a unique, award winning company providing expert childcare at conferences and events, nationally and in Europe. Responding to current need, Janthea developed ‘Virtual Edutainment Sessions’ to support parents when attending on line meetings and conferences.
Compliance and training are amongst Janthea’s responsibilities; Nipperbout has an ISO 9001-2015, the company is rated “Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Janthea contributed to the guidelines on crèches in the Association of Venue’s ‘E guide’ and the Festival “Purple Guide’. She is an expert on ‘safeguarding at events’ and ‘lost child procedure’, and frequently sits on Safety Advisory Group meetings as a consultant for event organisers. Janthea writes and delivers CPD accredited training courses in subjects relating to children, families and the general public. Most recent awards include ‘Buckinghamshire Business of the Year’, at SMEMK 2020.
An Early Years professional, Janthea has a passion for neuroscience and is a childcare advocate for ‘be curious rather than furious’. She created the ‘Nipper Cards”, affirmation cards that encourage children to talk about their feelings through play.
