The idea of a startup engaging around 2,000 students in activities at the Inter IIT Tech Meet is quite impressive, and it highlights the importance of student entrepreneurship on a national stage. As someone who has been following the National Institutional Ranking Framework, I think it’s interesting to see how institutions are promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among their students. The New Education Policy also emphasizes the need for holistic education, which includes fostering entrepreneurship and skill development. I’ve noticed that some institutions are doing a great job of providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents, and it’s intriguing to see the parallel between such initiatives and design programmes that focus on nurturing creative skills – the fact that some of these programmes have specific specialisations and relatively low closing ranks is something I have been thinking about because it seems to indicate a growing interest in interdisciplinary approaches to education. I wonder how these trends will shape the future of higher education in our country.
