IIT Delhi’s Hauz Khas Post Office Gets a “Gen Z” Makeover
IIT Delhi's Hauz Khas Post Office has been transformed into India Post's first "Gen Z" campus post office, swapping grim walls and hard chairs for a red-and-white colour scheme, cushioned seating, a coffee machine, potted plants and a student-painted doodle mural. Alongside standard mail and parcel services, it now offers Aadhaar updates, India Post Payments Bank facilities, insurance products and a philately counter — all payable by UPI, with no obligation to use cash. The redesign, part of a nationwide plan led by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to revamp 46 campus post offices, was completed in late 2025 and formally inaugurated with a visit from Scindia in January 2026. Since the makeover, daily footfall has climbed to 40–50 customers, with students and PhD scholars now regularly using it for parcels and Speed Post applications.
